Twelve Texas Black-Eyed Peas have been closed due to their parent company’s (Restaurants Acquisition I LLC) Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. Their Arlington location is the only Texas location still open. “Restaurants Acquisition filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization in December, citing revenue shortfalls and an inability to attract new capital. At the time, it owned 13 Black-eyed Pea units in Texas and one Dixie House restaurant in Dallas. The Dixie House restaurant closed in January. Several landlords filed petitions in bankruptcy court this week seeking back rents on the closed Texas locations. In its December bankruptcy petition, Restaurants Acquisition listed assets in the range of $1 million to $10 million, and debt between $10 million and $50 million.”
The case number is 15-12406 in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.
