More Bad News

The nation’s most recent unemployment numbers are out and they are very bad.  “The nation’s unemployment rate bolted to 8.1 percent in February, the highest since late 1983, as cost-cutting employers slashed 651,000 jobs amid a deepening recession.  Both figures were worse than analysts expected…”  Here is a link on the sad job news: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090306/ap_on_bi_go_ec_fi/economy

Dow stands at 6,559 and falling, although not at a huge rate, given what it has done in the recent past.  Here is a link to track the markets in real time: http://moneycentral.msn.com/detail/stock_quote?ipage=qd&Symbol=%24US%3ADJI .  Citi is at about $1, having fallen below that level yesterday within the day trading.  GM is at $1.61.
