A Fresh Perspective on the Federal Reserve

(December 6th, 2007 under Economic News )

The role of the Federal Reserve is the subject of this interesting “debate” between Congressman (and Presidential candidate) Ron Paul and Fed Chairman Bernanke: http://www.ronpaullibrary.org/document.php?id=974 . On this link, there is both a transcript and the video (upper right of my screen — maybe yours too) of the questioning. I will also note that for those of us who like to have several perspectives on a topic (and not just the usual spin), listening to Ron Paul can be a remarkable experience. He is the only person, at least with a national platform, that is speaking out about these issues (e.g. the real inflation rate in this country, the devaluation of the dollar as a result of the Fed’s policies, and the ever increasing money supply).
