A Fresh Perspective on the Federal Reserve
(December 6th, 2007 under Economic News )The role of the Federal Reserve is the subject of this interesting “debate” between Congressman (and Presidential candidate) Ron Paul and Fed Chairman Bernanke: http://www.ronpaullibrary.org/document.php?id=974 . On this link, there is both a transcript and the video (upper right of my screen — maybe yours too) of the questioning. I will also note that for those of us who like to have several perspectives on a topic (and not just the usual spin), listening to Ron Paul can be a remarkable experience. He is the only person, at least with a national platform, that is speaking out about these issues (e.g. the real inflation rate in this country, the devaluation of the dollar as a result of the Fed’s policies, and the ever increasing money supply).
