Tarrant County Hits a New Record for Foreclosures

(November 16th, 2006 under Economic News )
Tarrant County reports over 12,000 home foreclosures this year. This is a 17 percent increase over the same time period in 2005. This is the fourth month in a row that the number of foreclosures has been over 1,000. "In all, there were 12,155 homes foreclosed on during the past 12 months, a 17 percent increase over 2005's figure of 10,387. In October, the figure had already reached 10,979 postings. The increase was greater between 2005 and 2006 than the 5 percent increase between 2004 - when there were about 9,895 postings - and 2005, which was the first time the year-end number jumped above the 10,000 mark."
