Fee Increases Delayed

(March 20th, 2006 under New Bankruptcy Law )

We received a notice from the Northern District of Texas this morning that the increased fees for Chapter 7 and Chapter 13 filings will not go into effect on April 9 after all. There was no explanation for the delay. Notice is as follows:

Dear ECF Filers,

The fee increases listed in Clerk’s Notice 06-05 will not go into effect on April 9 as originally scheduled. The Deficit Reduction Act of 2005, enacted on February 8, 2006 includes several changes to filing fees. There has been a stay on these fee increases. The court will notify you with updated information regarding fee changes as it becomes available.
